Axxess is the build-your-own-bundle ISP: fibre, LTE, mobile data and email hosting that you can mix and match, across most of South Africa’s open-access networks.
The story behind Axxess
Axxess made its name in the ADSL era and carried a flexible, add-on-driven approach into fibre. The pitch is customisation: take a fibre line and layer on the extras you actually want, rather than a fixed package.
How Axxess works
Axxess is an ISP (internet service provider), so it doesn’t own the fibre in the ground. Instead it sells internet over open-access networks like Vumatel, Openserve and Frogfoot, while the network operator maintains the physical line. You pay Axxess each month for the package; the speed itself is the same as any other ISP on that line. Because it’s open-access, you can switch ISP later without a new installation. Our coverage check shows which networks reach your home, then the Axxess packages available on each.
Networks & coverage
Axxess sells across most open-access networks, including Vumatel, Openserve, Frogfoot, Octotel and MetroFibre, plus LTE and mobile. Check your address to see the Axxess options on the networks at your home.
What Axxess is known for
Flexibility and bundling: optional mobile data, email hosting and other add-ons make it a good fit if you want one provider for several needs. See how it compares in our best fibre ISPs guide.
Common questions
Can I add mobile data to my Axxess fibre?
Axxess is built around add-ons like mobile data and hosting alongside fibre. Exact bundle options vary, so check the current line-up when you sign up.
Can I switch to Axxess without re-installing?
Yes. Because the line is open-access, moving to or from Axxess usually keeps the same fibre and box on your wall, and only the provider billing you changes, often with little or no downtime.
